Gardner Dozois and I have just delivered the completed manuscript (well, e-manuscript, it being 2013 and all) for our latest big cross-genre anthologies, ROGUES, to our editor at Bantam Spectra. Hartwell and Jacob Weisman sure had a challenge ahead of them. Lately, he's been doing the internet rounds for not one but two recently released anthologies. In assembling THE SWORD & SORCERY ANTHOLOGY, editors David G. Adams followed his definitive post-apocalyptic reprint anthology, Wastelands: Stories of the Apocalypse, with the expansive (and no less definitive) zombie reprint The Living Dead. Jason publishes sword-and-sorcery short fiction anthologies. Fearsome Journeys: The New Solaris Book of Fantasy is an anthology of adventure fantasy, with a slight emphasis on military fantasy and swords and sorcery. Jason is probably the most passionate person about sword-and-sorcery that I've ever met. In between these, he continued to (co-edited with Gardner Dozois). Once again, we've got a really kickass lineup of contributors, We're got something for everyone in ROGUES -- SF, mystery, historical fiction, epic fantasy, sword and sorcery, comedy, tragedy, crime stories, mainstream. More relevant to this post, next summer will see the release of his co-edited, massive sword and sorcery anthology, Swords & Dark Magic. His forthcoming and in-progress lists feature titles such as Godlike Machines, Conquering Swords: New Sword and Sorcery, Dreamtime: Legends of Australian Fantasy, and Life on Mars: Tales from the New Frontier.
